VPME on Hypem

“There was a time , before Oasis dragged their hairy knuckles and lumbering pub rock out of the snug and transformed it into the staple diet of corporate arena rock , when some of the most interesting guitar pop had female singers whose mellifluous vocals  floated over coruscating, sun spangled guitars…”.

Check out our ‘Track of the Day’ review on the VPME.

The Upcoming

“A band like The Cellophane Flowers should be on the main stages of all this summer’s festivals – their infectious movement and vivacity onstage, their refreshing ability to mix up instruments (most of the members are multi-instrumentalists) and the depth and range of their songs shouldn’t be crammed into little underground venues. This band deserves room to breathe and to flourish.”

Mags and glad rags

They could have followed the blonde bushell that is Boris round town instead, in the hope of some better alliteration, or at least a last minute mayoral slip-up, but the fine folk at The Upcoming magazine decided instead to check out our gig last week at the 229.

Check out the live review and the post-gig interview when we were all sweaty-like from Abigail, all captured with amazing clarity by Victoria who has very kindly let us use her photos. Nick even remembered to open his eyes. Thanks ladies, we really enjoyed it.

The mystery of the hairy knuckles

It was great to find this review on the Von Pip Musical Express of Rock’n'roll, a track off the new album, which ended up on Hypem. No idea how they got hold of it, some industry type must have leaked it, but hey we don’t care when we are held up as the antithesis of Oasis. We’ve got our beady eyes on you, Liam…
